Busy Bag Exchange

I am so excited to finally have a second to post about what I am doing now!  I have joined a group called Busy Bag Exchange.  The group makes busy bags, kind of obvious, but there are 6 people in a group.  Each person in that group makes 6 of the same activity (that costs $1 or less per act.) & mails it out to the other 5 in the group.  Soon you will have a 6 activities for your child to play with!  There are 5 different age groups.  (NB-18mo) (18mo-3yrs) (3-5yrs) (6-8yrs) & (9-12yrs) This is limited to the US & Canada due to shipping costs. if you want in on this awesomeness visit this site.  On a separate note, if you are LDS and are interested in doing a church busy bag please let me know.

T-Shirt Hat

I am always looking for new projects to work on.  I came across this blog posting at second street & instantly fell in love.  I have been on the look out for shirts to make one, so I ran to a local thrift store.  I found this super cute shirt for $2.  My sizes were the similar as the one posted on Second Street's except I didn't use such a big circle.  I made my circle about 3/4 inch smaller in diameter.  I thought the brim was way to big for my daughter so I cut about 1 inch off.

If you use an adult size L or Larger then you can cut the band off the bottom & not off the side like I had to do here.  I wanted the Fox in Socks to be on the top so I didn't try to conserve any fabric.

I put buttons on this one because I thought they were cute.

I loved this project so much.  I am still on the lookout for a cute patterned shirt for T's hat.  They took me less than an hour to complete.  They are so easy!  Perfect for a beginner sewer!  Good luck!  If you don't want to make your own check out the few on my Etsy page.

Doing what I love!

One of the things I love to sew are purses/bags.  I think it is fun to add your own personal spin to something most ladies own.  I have sewn a few styles of purses but this is one of my favorites.  It is called the Buttercup purse.  I love houndstooth & I love bright colors!  Together this is a match made in heaven!  (at least my heaven) I will have listings on my Esty store once I get it up & running.

Welcome to my chaos!

Have you noticed the popularity of blogs jumping in the last few years?  Who are those who are creating those blogs?  They are people a lot like me.  Usually a SAHM (stay at home mom) who feels like she needs a little validation, connection with the outside world or basically some way to share her creative side.  I am no different.

Hello, my name is Paige.  There are a few labels that I choose to have & they are: I am the wife of a HOT soldier, the mom of 4 bicycle motors (ages 2-8) & I love creating things.  Life around here can be very crazy!  But part of staying sane in my chaos is having a creative outlet.  I love to sew, paint, make hair bows, etc.  I hope by reading this blog you can learn to laugh at your mistakes as I do mine, not take life so serious & get some fun ideas along the way.
